A Tribute to Sir M M Alam

Pakistan's national hero,world famous fighter pilot and a legend of 1965 war,Air commodore (retired)
Mohammed Mehmood Alam breathed his last monday  morning in Karachi after a prolonged illness,the spokesman for Pakistan Air force said,He was 78 years old
He was suffering from lungs problem and recently admitted  to the hospital.

The President Asif Ali Zardari,The supreme commander of the armed forces, Expressed sorrow at the death of M.M Alam and tribute to his contributions towards defending the country.


"Alam was a source of inspiration who made the people proud through his valor and 

unmatched bravery," He said..
"Air Chief expressed shocked at the M.M Alam death's.

"Our hero left us to make his final fight to the eternal destination,Personality, character and the sacrifices of this brave Pakistani are beyond any word of description " Chief of the Air Staff said on behalf of all ranks of Pakistan Air force.

He expressed sympathy with the family of the national hero and prayed of the departed soul.

Alam was a North-America F-86 Sabre flying ace and one star general,who served with the Pakistan air force.He was awarded the 'Sitara-e-Jurat'. (The star of a courage)


While posted in Sargodha,He had down nine Indian fighters in air-to-air combat,including six Hawker Hunter fighter.

In one mission on 7th september 1965.He downed 5 Indian aircraft in less'than a minute,The first four within 30 seconds,establishing a world record.
A true war hero,an ace pilot!
